Q: What age can a child start gymnastics?
A: Children can start gymnastics as young as 18 months in our parent and toddler classes called Ladybird class.
Q: What should my child wear for gymnastics?
A: Typically, children wear comfortable athletic wear like leotards, shorts, leggings and t-shirts. Make sure the clothing is tight to avoid getting caught on equipment. No skirts, dresses and jeans and no socks.
Q: How can gymnastics benefit my child?
A: Gymnastics can benefit your child in various ways! It helps improve their strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Additionally, participating in gymnastics can promote discipline, focus, and confidence in children. A fantastic way for them to stay active while developing important physical and mental skills.
Q: How can I enrol my child in a class?
A: Enrollment is straightforward. You can register online through our websites, click on the parent portal button, create an account, add your child`s details select the required class or visit our centre for in-person registration. We recommend scheduling a trial class to help determine the best class for your child. Please contact us for availability and to book a trial session.
Q: Can I have a trial class before I sign up?
A: Yes we offer a free trial class in all of our classes; this can be booked in via our parent portal.
Q: What are make-ups for?
A: Make-ups are available for any child who misses their scheduled class.
Q: When can my child do make-up?
A: Make-up classes can be booked via the parent portal anytime, as long as we are notified before their class commences.
Important to note:
Make-ups are only based on availability. AAGI can not guarantee that there will be available space in classes.
Make-ups must be completed within the same term. We offer 2 make-up classes per term.
Q: Is gymnastics safe for kids?
A: When gymnastics is taught by qualified and trained coaches in a safe environment, it is generally safe. Safety is our top priority. Our facilities are equipped with high-quality equipment and mats, and our instructors are qualified and trained in safety protocols. We ensure a low student-to-instructor ratio to provide individual attention and support. We focus on skill progression, which is key to safety.
Q: Can my child do more than 1 class a week?
A: You are very welcome to sign up for more classes, we offer discounted prices for 2 or more classes per week.
Q: Are there different types of gymnastics?
A: There are 7 types of gymnastics. AAGI offers Women`s Artistic Gymnastics and Acrobatics Gymnastics on a competitive level. We also offer a non-competitive pathway: kindergym, recreational gymnastics, teen gym, AcroDance, and ninja kids classes.
