Aussie trio has great expectations for their sport at home, abroad

LAKE BUENA VISTA (USA), FIG Office, April 15, 2012: In their second appearance at the Acrobatic World Championships, Australia's women's group members Ingrid Dunkerley and Annelise Olsson are pleased to report that Acrobatic Gymnastics is gaining popularity in their country.

"Compared to other sports, [Acrobatic Gymnastics] is not very well known because we're such a country of cricket and swimming and soccer," said Dunkerley, who began as an artistic gymnast at age three and took up acro 10 years ago on the advice of her coach. "It's not a well-known sport, but in the acrobatics community it's really well loved and it's growing. I don't know what the numbers are, but every Nationals there are more competitors."
